Various designs of Breast Reduction surgery are
available which may reduce and reshape breast with almost
negligible or no scar ( in appropriate cases ) to
cosmetically acceptable scar. In Moderately enlarged
breasts, reduction can be done without any scar on breast
through remote incision.
Unequal Breast /
Unilateral Breast hypertrophy (Enlargement ) /
Unilateral Small ( Hypo plastic ) Breast or Difference
in Breast Size:- Unilateral or one sided enlargement or one sided
underdeveloped Breast can be congenital (by birth) or
developmental. Slight difference in breast size is a
common occurrence. Problem arises (Cosmetic) when
difference in breast size is significant and clearly
noticeable. Unilateral enlargement can be due to some
growth or tumor , sometimes its simply due to excess
development of one side. unilateral small
breast or underdeveloped breast is usually congenital (
by birth) which becomes evident at puberty. it can
be a manifestation of
Poland's Syndrome, a developmental
anomaly in which chest, breast, muscles of chest wall on
one side are under developed . severity is variable.
Surgery for such problems depend upon actual cause. for
tumors removal is treatment. in case of unequal breast
without any tumor surgery may involve reduction of
larger breast or augmentation ( enlargement) of smaller
breast. surgery is individualized according to size
shape and symmetry of breast in individual case.

reduction. Breast Volume is reduced with liposuction and
skin stimulation at the same time facilitates skin

or young ladies in thirties or forties.
Juvenile ( Adolescent) Breast Enlargement
, Breast Reduction in Young Girls :- Sudden enlargement of breast
in Young Adolescent girls is turning common. In some its
associated with generalized obesity while in others its
isolated finding (means rest of body is very normal and
breast becomes very large & pendulous) & Idiopathic (
Means cause is unknown). Such enlargement of breast is
more symptomatic than those in adulthood and after child
birth in terms of social embarrassment and symptoms due
to its weight and pressure. sensation in nipple areola
complex reduces. In such cases any major and scarring
surgery should be avoided unless it becomes essential,
single or gradual reduction of volume with preservation
of glands is what we are doing. This problem should not
be ignored also as it affects social and mental well
being of Psychologically immature patient. Parents
often try to ignore treatment and suspect that treatment
may affect her child bearing and rearing capability (
Lactation), its not like that. Scar less breast

Breast Lift (Mastopexy) :-
For Large sagging breasts , breast lift or breast
uplifting is done with breast reduction
as per requirements. If breast volume is sufficient, only
breast lift gives a beautiful result. If volume is less as
in tubular or pendulous breast then breast lift is
combined with breast augmentation or breast enlargement.
In some cases only breast augmentation or enlargement is
sufficient. So, Breast augmentation , breast
reduction and breast lift or breast upliftment , all are
individualized as per shape size and breast volume of
patient. A generalized rule cant be used for every
patient.
